Diseño y lanzamiento de un MOOC como instrumento formativo digital gratuito para inclusión de migrantes y refugiados: análisis preliminar de resultados

Abstract

El vínculo entre las nuevas tecnologías y el aprendizaje toma forma con la llegada de los cursos MOOC (Massive Open Online Course). Configurados como herramientas formativas novedosas, este tipo de cursos ofrece a los estudiantes y docentes de todo el mundo la posibilidad de ampliar sus conocimientos sobre cualquier temática en cualquier momento y desde cualquier lugar. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar el diseño y lanzamiento, así como el análisis preliminar de los resultados obtenidos y las posibilidades de ampliación del primer curso MOOC sobre Traducción e Interpretación en los Servicios Públicos en España bajo el título de "¡Iníciate en la Traducción e Interpretación en los Servicios Públicos!". El MOOC ha sido desarrollado por tres miembros de los grupos FITISPos y FITISPos e-Learning de la Universidad de Alcalá, como parte de sus líneas de innovación docente y en base a su experiencia de investigación, formación y práctica traductora de más de 20 años. El curso, impartido en español y específico para la realidad social y cultural de la comunicación con población extranjera y las necesidades lingüístico-comunicativas de España, es aplicable a varias combinaciones de lenguas, especialmente con las lenguas minoritarias, o lo que se ha denominado ‘lenguas de la inmigración’ como el árabe, el chino, el rumano o el ruso, además del francés e inglés, que se imparten en programas de formación más consolidados.

The link between new technologies and learning takes shape with the arrival of the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) courses. Designed as innovative training tools, this type of courses offer students and teachers from all over the world the possibility of expanding their knowledge on any topic at any time and from anywhere. The objective of this paper is to present the design and release of the first MOOC course on Public Service Interpreting and Translation in Spain under the title “Get your Start in Public Service Interpreting and Translation!” as well as the analysis of the preliminary results obtained and the possibilities of adapting it to other languages. The MOOC has been developed by three members of the FITISPos and FITISPos e-Learning groups of the University of Alcalá, as part of their teaching innovation lines and based on their more than 20 years of research, training and experience in translation. The course, taught in Spanish and specific for the social and cultural reality of communication with the foreign population and the linguistic and communicative needs in Spain, is applicable to several language combinations, especially to minority languages or what has been called ‘immigration languages’, such as Arabic, Chinese, Romanian or Russian, as well as French and English, which are taught in wellestablished training programs.
