"La historia de Grisel y Mirabella", de la estructura al significado

Abstract

Este artículo supone una aproximación a la estructura tripartita de Grisel y Mirabella de Juan de Flores, a partir de los comentarios del explicit y de una serie de marcas discursivas que la confirman, tal como se muestra en la tradición impresa de la obra. Acto seguido, se desarrolla cada una de esas partes (el caso de Grisel y Mirabella, el pleito entre Torrellas y Brazaida y el amor y muerte del poeta misógino) y se establecen sus tensiones semánticas, simetrías y contrastes estructurales y seguimiento o ruptura respecto al canon genérico. Se le dedica especial atención a la tercera sección, el repentino enamoramiento de Torrellas, que podría entenderse como un reflejo de la dualidad misógina y filógina de sus Coplas y el Razonamiento. En cualquier caso, la ambigüedad de la obra en cuanto a la cuestión femenina sólo puede encararse teniendo conjuntamente en cuenta la perspectiva del narrador y la de la destinataria de la misma.

This article intends to show the tripartite structure of Grisel y Mirabella by Juan de Flores, taking as starting points Flores's commentaries in the explicit of his work, as well as a series of discourse markers that support them, as it is shown in the tradition of the text on print. The case of Grisel and Mirabella, the trial of Torrellas and Brazaida, and the love and death of the misogynist poet are analysed in terms of their semantic relations, symmetries, contrasts, and similarities and differences regarding genre theory. Special attention is paid to the creation of a specific literary model for Torrellas's sudden infatuation, which could be understood as the misogynist/philogynist duality common to his Coplas and Razonamiento. In any case, the ambiguity of Flores's work with reference to the woman question can only be tackled from the perspective of both the narrator and the addressee herself.
