Abstract
Despite the prohibition onthe use, synthesis and storingof Organophosphorus Nerve Agents (OPNA)as Chemical weapons (CW)by the Chemical Weapons Convention(CWC), there are still a lot of organophosphorus compounds being intentionally used for terrorist purposes. OPNA imply a simple synthesis, are highly lethaland quickly inhibit the AChE causing a major cholinergic syndrome. For these reasons, a treatment against these agents is needed. The current way of mitigating their effects is the administration of an anticonvulsant (Benzodiazepine), a muscarinic acethylcholine receptor antagonist (Atropine), and an oxime to reactivate the inhibited AChE. In this research work, the synthesis, isolation and characterization of different-lenght Pyridinaldoxime-Melatonin/Tryptaminehybrids (1-2) have been carried out as a new approach to reactivate the Acetylcholinesterase enzyme.
