Abstract
This article has carried out a bibliographical review on several aspects related to music
education in the initial training that Spanish university students receive in their Bachelor of Education,
in the specialities of Early Childhood and Primary Education. For this purpose, a descriptive review
of the most relevant scientific literature has been carried out, using the main articles published in
research journals during the years 2010-2021. After carrying out an online search, the articles found
were read and selected according to the following criteria: the subject matter; music education, the
target population; Bachelor’s in education students, written in Spanish, articles in research journals
and published in the years belonging to the selected chronological arc. Those papers that did not
meet these criteria were discarded. Those meeting the criteria were ordered by years and by general
classifying themes, in order to analyse the frequency of journals, authors and themes. Thus, it has been
observed that traditional topics in the last century, such as didactic resources, are almost nonexistent,
while other new ones emerge, such as gender.
