Over time many, sought to explain the Rachel and Vidas episode
within the Cantar de mio Cid based on categories outside the text itself.
This paper takes again internal mediate emblematic categories explicit in
the poem, already analyzed by other researchers, in order to clarify, creating
a synthesis of symbolic-emblematic reading, the identity of both characters,
asserting their membership of the Jewish minority, and the textual motifs
that justify so.
