Detection at an early stage of an infection is a major clinical challenge. An infection that is not diagnosed in time can not only seriously affect the health of the infected patient, but also spread and initiate a contagious approach towards other people. This paper deals with mHealth system for medical care and pre-diagnosis. The developed mHealth system use an Android App that collects physiological signals from the patients with a portable and easy-to-use sensors kit. The focus of the work is put on being able to build a low-cost system that using a very small amounts of data (one set record per patient and day). The processed data are uploaded to an online database to train a clinical decision support system to automatically diagnose infections. The mHealth system may be operated by the same personnel on site not requiring to be medical or computational skilled at all. The implementation takes five kinds of measures simultaneously (Electrodermal Activity, Body Temperature, Blood Pressure, Heart Beat Rate and Oxygen Saturation (SPO2)). A real implementation has been tested and results confirm that the sampling process can be done very fast and steadily Finally, the App usability was tested, showing a fast learning curve and no significant differences are observable in learning time by people with different skills or age. These usability factors are key for the mHealth system success.

A new Faceted UTD solver as implemented in Altair Feko is introduced here. The solver is based on UTD (Uniform Theory of Diffraction) applied to planar and arbitrarily convex curved surfaces meshed with planar triangles. It is most suitable for antenna placement applications in the high frequency regime.

This paper presents a proposal for the intelligent territory platform based on ontologies. The platform can connect different types of agents which consist of sensors and devices acting as producers or consumers of information, and provide the real information for intelligent application. Ontology technologies can insure automatic information communication between agents and the systems. In our proposal, the intelligent platform can obtain data from these agents, and users can easily interact with the intelligent territory platform. The information of each agent is semantically represented as the standardized knowledge of the intelligent platform.

The design and implementation of a solar charge controller for lead-acid batteries is intended to supplement a component of the water purification module of the water treatment unit for natural disaster relief.
This unit contains a solar panel system that supplies power to the module by
charging batteries through a controller comprising an Atmega 328 processor. The
solar panel feeds voltage to the batteries through fuzzy logic-based software,
which allows up to 6 A DC to pass through the controller's power circuit.
Consequently, the battery was charged in less time (an average of 7 h to reach
maximum capacity), wherein battery lifespan is related to the charge wave
frequency. Thus, our software may be adapted in different control algorithms
without having to change hardware.

This paper studies the use of Websockets to maintain temporal states in stateless applications. Concretely, it is used in a web-based application that calculates the propagation loss in outdoor environments. The reasons why Websockets are used and their limitations are discussed. A comparison with other similar technologies is also included.

This work shows a comparison between two different techniques to obtain 3D buildings on a web map. The first one is based on the XYZ Tiles server of OSM Buildings and the second one is based on the Overpass servers of the collaborative project OpenStreetMap. Several simulations have been carried out to analyze their performance. Benefits and limitations of both methods are discussed.

In this work, container security issues and strengths are studied using Docker as the main implementation. First,
the container infrastructure is described and compared against the traditional approach of virtual machines. Secondly, the
Docker containers security is discussed by the different infrastructure layers that compose them and different solutions are
proposed to try to decrease the attack surface over this kind of applications.

This work focuses on the use of ray tracing programmable frameworks, like Nvidia Optix, for radio wave
propagation prediction. Although these frameworks are oriented to graphics visualization, they can be tailored to calculate
specular reflections on walls and diffractions in edges of buildings. Once all the paths between the transmitter and the
receiver are obtained, Maxwell"s equations can be applied to compute the path loss or the received power.
