In this work, we use the semi-supervised LAMDA-HSCC algorithm for characterizing the energy consumption in smart buildings, which can work with labeled and unlabeled data. Particularly, it uses the LAMDA-RD approach for the clustering problem and the LAMDA-HAD approach for the classification problem. Additionally, this algorithm uses three submodels for merging, partition groups (classes/cluster) and migrating individuals from a group to another. For the performance evaluation, several datasets of energetic consumption are used, with different percent of labeled data, showing very encouraging results according to two metrics in the semi-supervised context.

With the arrival of smart edifications with renewable energy generation capacities, new possibilities for optimizing the use of the energy network appear. In particular, this work defines a system that automatically generates hours of use of the controllable load appliances (washing machine, dishwasher, etc.) within these edifications, in such a way that the use of renewable energy is maximized. To achieve this, we are based on the hypothesis that depending on the climate, a prediction can be made of how much energy will be generated and, according to the behavior of the users, the energy demand required by these appliances. Following this hypothesis, we build an autonomous cycle of data analysis tasks composed of three tasks, two tasks for estimating the required load (demand) and the renewable energy produced (supply), coupled with a scheduling task to generate the plans of use of appliances. The results indicate that it is possible to carry out optimal scheduling of the use of appliances, but that they depend on the quality of the predictions of supply and demand.

The continuous expanding scale of WiFi deployments in metropolitan areas has made possible to find WiFi
access points at almost any place in our cities. Although WiFi
has been mainly used for indoor localisation, there is a growing
number of research in outdoor WiFi-based localisation. This
paper presents a WiFi-based localisation system that takes
advantage of the huge deployment of WiFi networks in urban
areas. The idea is to complement localisation in zones where
the GPS coverage is low, such as urban canyons. The proposed
method explores the CNNs ability to handle large amounts of
data and their high accuracy with reasonable computational
costs. The final objective is to develop a system able to handle
the large number of access points present in urban areas
while preserving high accuracy and real time requirements.
The system was tested in a urban environment, improving the
accuracy with respect to the state-of-the-art and being able to
work in real time.

In this paper, we propose a supervised multilabel algorithm called Learning Algorithm for Multivariate Data Analysis for Multilabel Classification (LAMDA-ML). This algorithm is based on the algorithms of the LAMDA family, in particular, on the LAMDA-HAD (Higher Adequacy Grade) algorithm. Unlike previous algorithms in a multi-label context, LAMDA-ML is based on the Global Adequacy Degree (GAD) of an individual in multiple classes. In our proposal, we define a membership threshold (Gt), such that for all GAD values above this threshold, it implies that an individual will be assigned to the respective classes. For the evaluation of the performance of this proposal, a solar power generation dataset is used, with very encouraging results according to several metrics in the context of multiple labels.

Currently, there is a high rate of generation of new information about the Energy Consumption of customers. It is important the traceability of its consumption pattern evolution to determine in real-time the services of a smart energy management system. This paper analyses the evolution of the Energy Consumption Pattern of customers using the Learning Algorithm for Multivariable Data Analysis (LAMDA). LAMDA is a fuzzy approach for supervised and unsupervised learning, based on the calculation of the Global Adequacy Degree (GAD) of one individual to a class/cluster, through the contributions of all its descriptors. LAMDA can create new classes/clusters after the training stage (online learning). If an individual does not have enough similarity to the preexisting classes/clusters, it is evaluated with respect to a threshold called the Non-Informative Class (NIC) to define if it is a new class/cluster. Particularly, the algorithm of the LAMDA family used in this paper is LAMDA-RD (Robust Distance). In the paper is analyzed the patterns of the initial grouping of the data, as well as, the patterns through their evolution (traceability). For the analysis of the patterns different metrics are considers: Calinski- Harabasz Index and Silhouette Score.

A group of lecturers from diverse areas of knowledge of the University of Alcalá have implemented an
experience of teaching innovation based on “reflective diaries”. The students hand in to the lecturer
every week their “Weekly Reflection Papers” (WRP), in which they schematically express the most
important ideas related with the topic presented during the classes of the previous week. They must
include their reflections about the aspects they found especially interesting. After having applied this
tool for some academic years we introduced a modification called “Guided Weekly Reflection Papers”
(GWRP), where the professors suggest a series of questions on which the students must apply the
most significant concepts studied each week. This modification enhances student’s motivation,
encourages them to achieve more significant and reflective knowledge and generates interest in
emergent topics.
However, we often detect that the information management needed to solve the proposed questions in
the GWRP is not the most suitable one. Therefore our present work is aimed at helping students
develop the necessary skills and acquire a searching criterion in the framework of the information
literacy. The strategy was focussed on some important items for the acquisition of information
competencies. In this communication we analyze the progress of the GWRP tool and we explore the
response of students to the information literacy approach.

The disruption of communications in critical infrastructures could have a serious impact on the health, safety, security or economic well-being of citizens or even prevent the effective functioning of governments or other agencies. For this reason, in this paper we present a distributed architecture, named CYBERSENS, aimed at preventing, early detecting, and mitigating cyber attacks to critical infrastructure networks. CYBERSENS is an advanced IDS/IPS system specially tailored for securing communications in critical infrastructures. It"s federated architecture, the combination of misuse detection techniques and novel anomaly detection approaches, and the inclusion of mechanisms for self-obfuscation and self-protection, makes our proposal specially suitable for these scenarios.

We propose a framework based on Hierarchical Clustering (HC) to perform multiagent negotiations where we can specify the type of agreements needed in terms of utility sharing among the agents. The proposed multi-round mediation process is based on the analysis of the agents" offers at each negotiation round and the generation of a social contract at each round as a feedback to the agents, which explore the negotiation space to generate new offers. This mechanism efficiently manages negotiations following predefined consensus policies avoiding zones of no agreement

Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) have been proved to be an effective tool to improve the efficiency of intelligent traffic control systems (using them in traffic lights scheduling, vehicle routing, etc.). Negotiation is one of the most used techniques to improve the global goal of a system while maintaining as much as possible each agent preferences. In this paper, we propose modeling the traffic characteristics produced in a transportation network during a given time interval as a traffic matrix, and then use it as core element in an agent negotiation system. We define how this matrix is generated, and the mechanisms to populate it and update it. Using the traffic matrix data, we propose to use two different selection methods to obtain a subset of agents with voting rights. The first method is based on the average speed of network edges and the second one is based on the traffic jam length for a vehicle. This subset will perform a negotiation process where other agents in the network will be proposed to block their departure or modify their departure time, to mitigate the congestion in the network edges, and as goal, reducing trip duration.

The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm
has allowed the design and development of new services interconnecting
heterogeneous devices. However, the complexity
of these new systems hasn"t been followed by the increase of
intelligence and reasoning of the devices connected. On the
other hand, intelligent agent systems have developed precisely
these characteristics so the combination of both paradigms by
modelling intelligent agents in IoT devices is a very promising
approach that will enable a more powerful and smart IoT. The interconnection
of agents through a Internet-based network implies
addressing critical issues that affect all network communications,
such as security, privacy and access control, specially given the
sensitivity of the information exchanged by agents. In this paper,
we propose the application of User-Managed Access (UMA) to
provide an unified access control schema for an heterogeneous
hybrid architecture of IoT devices and intelligent agents.

Nowadays society is more and more dependent on critical infrastructures. Critical network infrastructures (CNI) are communication networks whose disruption can create a severe impact on other systems including critical infrastructures. In this work, we propose TOWER, a framework for the provision of adequate strategies to optimize service provision and system resilience in CNIs. The goal of TOWER is being able to compute new network topologies for CNIs under the event of malicious attacks. For doing this, TOWER takes into account a risk analysis of the CNI, the results from a cyber-physical IDS and a multilayer model
of the network, for taking into account all the existing dependences. TOWER analyses the network structure in order to determine the best strategy for obtaining a network topology, taking into account the existing dependences and the potential conflicting interests when not all requirements can be met. Finally, we present some lines for further development of TOWER.

AAMAS 2017 - Sixteenth International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, , 08/05/2017-12/05/2017, Sao Paulo, Brasil
Critical network infrastructures are communication networks whose disruption can create a severe impact on other systems. Multi-agent systems have been successfully used to protect critical network infrastructures, with approaches ranging from reasoning about secure design and policies to multi-agent intrusion detection systems (IDS). However, there is little research on the possibilities for multi-agent systems to react to known intrusions. In this paper we propose a multi-agent framework for \emph{reactive network resilience}, that is, to allow a network to reconfigure itself in the event of a security incident so that the risk of further damage is mitigated. The proposed framework takes advantage of a risk model based on multilayer networks and of distributed belief propagation techniques to agree on a new, more resilient configuration of the network in the event of an attack. We compare our proposal with a number of centralized optimization and multi-agent negotiation techniques. Experiments show that our proposal outperforms the reference approaches both in terms of risk mitigation and performance

Optimizing resource use in complex networks with self-interested participants (e.g. transportation networks, electric grids, Internet systems) is a challenging and increasingly critical real-world problem. We propose an approach for solving this problem based on multi-agent nonlinear negotiation, and demonstrate it in the context of Wi-Fi channel assignment.
We compare the performance of our proposed approaches with a complete information optimizer based on particle swarms, together with the \emph{de facto} heuristic technique based on using the least congested channel. We have evaluated all these techniques in a wide range of settings, including randomly generated scenarios and real-world ones.
Our experiments show that our approach outperforms the rest of techniques in terms of social welfare.
The particle swarm optimizer is the only technique whose performance is close to ours, but its computation cost is much higher. Finally, we also study the effect of some graphs metrics on the gain that our approach can achieve.

One of the biggest challenges in modern societies is to solve vehicular traffic problems. In this scenario, our proposal is to use a Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) composed of three types of agent: traffic light management agents, traffic jam detection agents, and agents that control the traffic lights at an intersection. This third type of agent is able to change its behaviour between what we have called a selfish mode (the agent will try to influence the other neighbour agents of its type to achieve its goal) or an altruistic mode (the agent will take into consideration the other neighbour selfish agents indications). To validate our solution, we have developed a MAS emulator which communicates with the Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO) traffic simulator using the Traci tool to realize the experiments in a realistic environment. The obtained results show that our proposal is able to improve other existing solutions such as conventional traffic light management systems (static or dynamic) in terms of reduction of vehicle trip duration.

In this paper is presented an automatic process of verification. We focus in the verification of scheduling analysis parameter. This proposal is part of process based on Model Driven Engineering to automate a Verification and Validation process of the software on board of satellites. This process is implemented in a software control unit of the energy particle detector which is payload of Solar Orbiter mission. From the design model is generated a scheduling analysis model and its verification model. The verification as defined as constraints in way of Finite Timed Automatas. When the system is deployed on target the verification evidence is extracted as instrumented points. The constraints are fed with the evidence, if any of the constraints is not satisfied for the on target evidence the scheduling analysis is not valid.

This paper intends to describe an ongoing experiment that provides a collaborative learning
method applied to a case study in higher education.
With this purpose, a computer-based support on World Wide Web is developed, by means of which,
a virtual classroom environment is provided to carry out asynchronous and distributed work. This
environment facilitates a time -and -space independent communication among users in order to
plan groupwork sessions; this support reduces both the assessments on the part of the teacher and
classroom overcrowding problems.
In addition, two collaborative environments in the classroom are identified: the first one, among the
members of a group and, the second one, among groups in the classroom.

All-Path protocols, namely ARP-Path and TCPPath, provide shortest path bridging by using path discovery and backwards learning in meshed topologies. However, their domain size may be limited to prevent excessive Layer 2 (L2) broadcast traffic overload in hosts. This paper proposes the use of Virtual Extensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) to solve this issue. Moreover, this paper also verifies the extensibility of All-Path domains and its interoperability with other different L2 protocols via VXLAN, which enables flexible network hybridization. Although encapsulation via VXLAN is heavier than other standard protocols designed for L2 scalability, the overall advantages and suitability for virtualized networks are excellent. Results show full compatibility and interoperability combined with good throughput and delay performance.

In order to overcome the limitations of the current Internet addressing, it is generally accepted that the Future Internet needs a separation between identifiers and network locators. Such identifier-locator split is also needed in infrastructureless networks, such as Mobile ad hoc Networks (MANETs) and Delay Tolerant Networks, since they are an integral part of the Future Internet. Despite the amount of work in infrastructurebased networks, only a few proposals have considered how to apply this identifier-locator split in infrastructure-less networks. The contribution of this paper is an identifier-locator resolution system that can work in sparse MANETs, which are prone to network partitions. Our approach is an identifier-locator association discovery system, which uses periodic beacons to exchange the resolution information, avoiding the establishment of shared state between nodes. Our system exploits the broadcast nature of the wireless medium, opportunistic encounters, and information replication to disseminate identifier-locator associations across the network. The results of our extensive experiments demonstrate that our solution outperforms the related work, achieving a higher identifier-locator association discovery rate.

In this paper we present CMRNet, a realtime approach based on a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to localize an RGB image of a scene in a map built from LiDAR data. Our network is not trained in the working area, i. e., CMRNet does not learn the map. Instead it learns to match an image to the map. We validate our approach on the KITTI dataset, processing each frame independently without any tracking procedure. CMRNet achieves 0.27m and 1.07° median localization accuracy on the sequence 00 of the odometry dataset, starting from a rough pose estimate displaced up to 3.5m and 17°. To the best of our knowledge this is the first CNN-based approach that learns to match images from a monocular camera to a given, preexisting 3D LiDAR-map.
