However, TRE can onlyuse shortcuts that arrive directly at bridges located in thebranch of the destination. TRE+ extends the topologyknowledge of a bridge to 2 hops away, thus unveiling newshortcuts to the destination branch. Simulations show a majorperformance improvement of TRE+ compared to TRE, withresults close to shortest paths in some topologies.
