For M  Ti these react with bases L (L = 2,2′-bipy, THF, Et2O) to give the corresponding adducts TiCl2(O2Ar)L, and with TlCp to give the monocyclopentadienyl complexes CpTiCl(O2Ar). The best way of preparing the analogous zirconium derivatives is through the reaction of CpZrCl3 · DME with (HO)2Ar.
