AB The author unearths new fundamental data about Cosme Pérez, the most celebratedand famous actor of the 17th century, about his biography -mainly his tudelan originand his birth certifícate- and his family. This article includes the transcription ofsuch a document, looked for in vain by Cotarelo y Mori, who assumed that Pérezshould have been born in Madrid.
