English has taken over the reins of this annualcompetition, although there is still room for the traditional and the ethnic. The researchthat has been carried out is intended to serve as a reference for all Eurovision followerswho wish to expand their knowledge. It also attempts to clarify concepts such as“linguistic diversity”, “identity” and “culture”, which can be extrapolated to other fieldsof knowledge. It must be noted that not only have linguistic issues been dealt with, butthere are references to all the factors involved in the contest. However, it is thosephenomena related to languages that form the backbone of the work.
