There is a lot ofevidence about the relevance of self-regulation in training sessions. This information in additionto the influence of intrinsical motivation in the practice of sport, led us to focus on emotionalintelligence and training frequency. With this purpose, we have designed an empirical study with a sample of crossfitters from twoaffiliated boxes in Alcalá de Henares. In order to collect empirical data about emotionalintelligence, we used the TMMS-24 test and also added questions about age, training frequencyand gender. However, there are some significant differences among age ranges in some of thefactors that were measured by TMMS-24: attention and clarity. To conclude, the sample showedan adequate level in the three factors: emotional attention, emotional clarity and emotionalregulation.
