Thisarticle briefly traces some of the new directions in the twenty-first century with respectto border studies and strategies / methods to articulate, validate and disseminateIndigenous feminist epistemologies. Like Anzaldúa, Indigenous feminist theorizationsimilarly seeks the democratization and autonomy of the authority to theorize and resist;they reclaim rights to their own jurisdiction to produce knowledge, develop capacitybased on that knowledge and courage to take action. This paper posits that twentyfirstcentury indigenous activists −authentic leaders− continue along the "Borderlands"territory as they embrace a key non-Western ingredient of their epistemology, Kawsay(good life), pertaining to a wide spectrum of linguistic, environmental, physical, social, political, and cultural trespasses toward collective good.
