Perkins hasplayed a crucial role in the U.S. government of the time, her appointment as Secretary ofLabor being a social and political success. In the political aspect, Perkins contributed to thecreation and strengthening of the New Deal, thanks to her dynamic spirit and experience inmany fields of knowledge. Her support given to the American workers favored the signingof many legislative measures which bettered the existing working conditions and broughtsolutions for the crisis lived during those years. This paper aims to highlight her maincontributions to legislation and reforms with which she meant to strive toward the goal ofguaranteeing greater security for the individual.
