Sobre la igualdad entre hombres y mujeres en la Unión Europea : la resolución del Parlamento Europeo, de 8 de marzo de 2011

Abstract

Se aborda el examen de los principales obstáculos que impiden el desarrollo de la igualdad efectiva de hombres y mujeres en el ámbito de la Unión Europea, especialmente en un contexto de crisis económica como el actual. Para ello, se consideran las tasas de desempleo femenino, las diferencias salariales, la incidencia de la maternidad y de las cargas familiares, los estereotipos de género en la educación, la infrarrepresentación femenina en puestos de responsabilidad administrativa, política y empresarial y la influencia negativa derivada de la violencia de género; proponiendo una serie de recomendaciones dirigidas a la Comisión Europea y a los Estados miembros en aras a la adopción de medidas legislativas concretas tendentes a la satisfacción de la efectividad de tal derecho.

It deals with the examination of the main obstacles that prevent the development of the effective equality of men and women in the area of the European Union, especially in a context of economic crisis as the present one. If this is it, there have been considered the rates of feminine unemployment, the wage differences, the effect of the maternity and the dependants, the stereotypes of kind in the education, the women’s underrepresentation in administrative, political and managerial positions of a great deal of responsibility and the negative influence derived from the gender violence; suggesting several recommendations aimed at the European Commission and the Members States in terms of taking specific legislative steps aimed to the satisfaction of the effectiveness of such a right.
