Intervención militar en Asia Menor y política interna en Esparta (400-395 A.C.)

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza la intervención espartana en Asia entre los años 400 a 395 a.C., la progresiva ampliación del área del dominio lacedemonia en la costa asiática hasta constituir un verdadero imperio, las debilidades de la estrategia militar espartana y el papel y la realidad de la propaganda panhelénica. Demasiado alejada de sus intereses, considerada secundaria, donde nunca se desplazan regimientos lacedemonios (morai), la intervención espartana en Asia debe ser comprendida en el contexto de la cambiante evolución de la política interna espartana.

In this paper we analyze the Spartan intervention in Asia during the years 400 to 395 B.C., the progressive increase of the lacedaemonian dominion in the Asiatic coast so far as to constitute a real empire, the weaknesses of the Spartan military strategy and the role and reality of the panhellenic propaganda. The Spartan intervention in Asia, to far away from its interests, considered as secondary and where never the lacedaemonian regiments (morai) where to be transferred, must be understood in the changing context of the evolution of the internal Spartan politics.
