Abstract
An update to Ritterling's history of this Roman regiment, which was garrisoned in Spain at the beginning of the Imperial period. Around a.D. 40, the legio was deployed at Mogontiacum and served in the area until Vespasian's reorganization of the Army after the Civil War, when it was renamed as legio IV Flavia
