Joven, crimen y estigma

Abstract

La inseguridad se transforma en nudo político de la mayor relevancia. La ciudadanía la reconoce como la mayor fuente de preocupación colectiva, incluso por encima de los siempre acuciantes problemas económicos con su carga de desempleo y miseria. Antes que los desvelos por la mejora en las condiciones de existencia, en un contexto en donde a todas luces la pobreza se agiganta, la gente se siente interpelada por la amenaza sobre su vida y su patrimonio. Mientras tanto el Estado, en la otra orilla, hace del tema un lema de su intervención pública. Los políticos la encuadran en el centro de sus campañas electorales, al tanto que las administraciones inyectan grandes presupuestos en la renovación de sus aparatos de represión y control. La legitimidad pasa ahora por ahí, por la capacidad de la gestión política para contener el crimen y aminorar su presencia.

The insecurity is turned into a political knot that has a big relevance. The citizenship recognizes the insecurity as a great source of collective preoccupation, even over the always pressing economic problems, with its load of unemployment and misery. Before the sleeplessness by the improvement in the conditions of existence, in a context in where the poverty is bigger day after day, people feel like interbare by the threat on their life and their patrimony. The state, in the other border, makes with that subject an slogan to justify its public intervention. The politicians fit it in the center of their electoral campaigns, while the administrations inject great budgets in the renovation of their machinery of repression and control. So, the legitimacy has to do with the capacity of the political management to contain the crime and to reduce its presence.
