Intensidad tecnológica y cualificaciones laborales en los servicios de la UE

Abstract

En este trabajo se pretende realizar una primera aproximación a una valoración de conjunto de las implicaciones existentes entre la demanda de cualificaciones laborales y las necesidades tecnológicas en las actividades terciarias de los países europeos. El objetivo principal es analizar si existe una correlación positiva entre el nivel cualificativo de los servicios y la intensidad tecnológica asociada a los mismos, a través del estudio de las ocupaciones laborales y el nivel de estudios de los trabajadores del sector terciario, así como realizar una revisión de la literatura existente relacionada con este tema. Además de estudiar el sector servicios de forma agregada, se procede a desagregar el mismo en las distintas categorías para analizar si estas implicaciones son homogéneas a todos los servicios o, por el contrario, presentan diferencias según qué tipo de servicio se estudie. Igualmente, el trabajo valorará la situación de los distintos países europeos con el objetivo de presentar un mapa lo más amplio posible de cualificaciones laborales en el sector servicios.

This paper wants to make one first approach to a valuation of the existing implications between the demand of labor qualifications and the technological necessities in the service activities among the European countries. The main aim is to analyze if a positive correlation between the level of qualifications in the services and the associated technological intensity to such exists or not, through the study of the labor occupations and the level of studies of the workers of the service sector; as well as a summary of the existing literature related to this subject. Not only it is analyzed the service sector as a whole, but this analysis is also undertaken with the different service categories, in order to analyze if these implications are homogenous to all the services, or, on the contrary, they display differences according to which service is analyzed. Also the different European countries are analyzed with the objective to display an European mapping of labor qualifications in the service sector.
