Abstract
This work studies the transformation of the railway infrastructures that have taken place in the last few years after the Industrial Revolution. It tells the process that is carried out to renew these railway lines that became obsolete after not operating, until they became linear parks and green spaces within the city. The railway infrastructure that became useless was converted into a barrier over topographic support, preventing the growth or dividing into two cities. Thus, the transformation into a continuous linear corridor becomes a catalyst for urban regeneration in the consolidated city, what I call, sewing the city. The results of the transformation are reflected in several areas, including a new way of moving within the city, a quiet space that counteracts the chaos of a dense city or even uniting communities that were previously divided.
