Abstract
One of the qualities that makes human beings different from other animals is
perfectionism. This perfectionism and concern for improvement, transmitted from the
making of a piece of furniture to the execution of a report, usually translates into an
improvement in the quality of the output generated. If we try to evaluate the quality of
the things around us, we will find that it often depends on the eyes of the beholder.
However, it is important to establish common and universal criteria for assessing
specific aspects of the quality of something.
The same is true for audit quality, which is why many international bodies have tried to
provide answers to what, from their point of view, should be the variables to consider
when assessing the quality of an audit.
This paper will address and analyse the different proposals that have been put forward
and will analyse the concept of audit quality from two different points of view. That of
an audit performer and that of a contractor.
