Abstract
This work tries to analyze and value security in the urban environment, based mainly on the perception of women’s insecurity and its comparison between different areas taking the district of Villa de Vallecas as a reference, specifically the areas between Congosto and the Ensanche.
Understand the changes produced from an area of the old town’s area as Congosto, to a new urban space, theoretically more modern and conciliatory such as the Ensanche de Vallecas.
Firstly, after understanding the meaning of "The gender perspective", a historical analysis of the women's value in the city and specifically in this neighborhood we are dealing with will be carried out. Different case studies will be examined in the area itself through interviews, exploratory tours and surveys, applying urban criteria in order to live with harmony in our neighborhoods. The most conflictive points for women will be established, analyzing possible solutions that, from the urban plan, can guarantee them the security
and tranquility they deserve and need.
In this way, after studying the neighborhood from the female experience itself, it will be possible to understand the basic needs of public spaces in the city, and thus be able to look at cities from a perspective of equality and security, adapting them to the new times.
