El miedo subjetivo y la inseguridad percibida en la ciudad contemporánea

Abstract

El presente Trabajo Fin de Grado tiene por objetivo principal reflexionar sobre cómo sucede el miedo y la inseguridad en la ciudad. Se trata de indagar en el sentido más profundo del sentimiento del miedo en las personas, cómo ha afectado a su evolución como seres humanos que conviven en una sociedad y, sobre todo, a su vida cotidiana actual sin dejar de lado el papel positivo que ejerce sobre las personas de mejorar y no conformarse. Se plantea esto mismo desde la perspectiva de la seguridad, cuáles son las prioridades sociales en la actualidad y qué supone su relación con los distintos grupos que conforman la urbe. Estamos en una era donde los cambios ocurren cada día, el sistema actual se queda obsoleto con facilidad por los avances tecnológicos dejando el factor humano de lado. Este trabajo viene a plantear la vuelta a la reflexión desde distintos puntos de vista, invitando al debate sobre temas que pasan desapercibidos por un ritmo de vida frenético y que está marcando un antes y un después en la huella del ser humano en el planeta donde vivimos. Todo esto analizando primeramente el papel del miedo en nuestra vida, como ha ido evolucionando conforme hemos ido evolucionando nosotros. Después entra el análisis más teórico de lo que propiamente es el miedo, analizando los distintos componentes alrededor de él. Segundo, el análisis teórico de la (in)seguridad, concepto muy interesante que se explica en estas páginas. Como tercer punto, la relación entre el sentimiento subjetivo y la percepción objetiva en el tejido urbano. Esto da unas conclusiones y metodologías que tenemos que tomar como ejemplo las arquitectas y arquitectos de nuestra generación, ser conscientes de un problema que si lo dejamos estar con las bases de una ciudad obsoleta se convertirá en una cuestión muy difícil de solucionar una vez quede normalizado por la propia sociedad. La concienciación es la clave, y aquí, al final de este trabajo, se explican varios métodos y reflexiones para ir implementando en los procesos creativos que supone proyectar, desde la escala más pequeña - que no quiere decir menos importante, al contrario - hasta la mayor de las escalas como es la metrópoli. Todo queda respaldado por investigaciones de todas las vertientes, sociólogos, geógrafos, economistas, políticos, urbanistas, arquitectos, antropólogos, historiadores… todos estos profesionales ayudan a entender un poco más la ciudad para poder crear un futuro donde se tenga en cuenta todas las vertientes necesarias.

The main objective of this Final Degree Project is to reflect on how fear and insecurity happen in the city. It is about investigating the deepest sense of the feeling of fear in people, how it has affected their evolution as human beings living together in a society and above all, their current daily life, without neglecting the positive role it plays on people to improve and not to conform. The same is raised from the perspective of security, what are the current social priorities and what is their relationship with the different groups that make up the city. We are in an era where changes occur every day, the current system becomes obsolete easily by technological advances leaving the human factor aside, this work comes to raise the return to reflection from different points of view, inviting debate on issues that go unnoticed by a frenetic pace of life and that is marking a before and after in the footprint of human beings on the planet where we live. All this analyzing first the role of fear in our lives, how it has evolved as we have evolved. Then comes the more theoretical analysis of what fear is, analyzing the different components around it. Second, the theoretical analysis of (in)security, a very interesting concept that is explained in these pages. As a third point, the relationship between subjective feeling and objective perception in the urban fabric. This gives some conclusions and methodologies that we have to take as an example the architects of our generation, to be aware of a problem that if we let it be with the basis of an obsolete city will become a very difficult issue to solve once it is normalized by society itself. Awareness is the key, and here, at the end of this work, several methods and reflections are explained to be implemented in the creative processes involved in designing, from the smallest scale - which does not mean less important, on the contrary - to the largest of scales such as the metropolis. Everything is supported by research from all aspects, sociologists, geographers, economists, politicians, urban planners, architects, anthropologists, historians... All these professionals help to understand the city a little more in order to create a future where all the necessary aspects are taken into account.
