Abstract
In the current work an empirical investigation is presented on the potential
implication of the morality of people in the consumption of pornography, previously
structured in a theoretical work that studies the previous literature and suggests that
certain moral foundations could influence people to feel preference or disapproval
towards certain pornographic categories. The study is carried out through the implementation of a questionnaire that
gathers information on the consumption preferences of the 112 people who make up the
sample, in adition to another questionnaire that gathers information on the moral
preferences of the people who make it.
The moral foundations of care and purity seem to be behind certain choices of
pornographic consumption, repudiating categories involving violence and domination or
bodily attributes and non-heterosexual sex, respectively. Both moral foundations are also
placed in relation to the gender and political ideology of the participants, obtaining results
consistent with previous literature.
