Los hiperbóreos, "benefactores" de Grecia

Abstract

Este artículo está dedicado al estudio de los hiperbóreos, un pueblo que según la tradición mítica y literaria griega vivía en el extremo septentrional del mundo. En un primer apartado se contemplan los aspectos más llamativos de su caracterización etnográfica; posteriormente, se profundiza en el significado de la estrecha vinculación que mantuvieron con los tres principales santuarios griegos: Delfos. Délos y Olimpia.

This paper is devoted to the study of hyperboreans, who, according to the mythical and literar^^ Greek tradition, lived in the northem extreme of the world. The most impressive aspects of their etnographic characterization are studied in the flrst part. After that, there is a deeper investigation about the meaning of the cióse relationship malntalned by the hyperboreans with the three main Greek sanctuaries: Delphi, Délo and Olympia.
