Abstract

El artículo realiza una reconstrucción de los acontecimientos en tomo al asunto de Mesina y al inicio de la piimera guerra púnica, desde la batalla de Longano hasta las acciones estrictamente militares que dan comienzo con el cruce del estrecho por parte del ejército romano del cónsul Ap. Claudio.

The paper accomplishes a reconstruction of the events related to the matter of Messana and to the begüming of the First Punic War until the beginning of the stiictly military actions that began with the crossing of the Strait by the Roman aimy of the cónsul Ap. Claudius Caudex.
