Funcionalidad político-ideológica de las edificaciones religiosas en el África de la "Renouatio Imperii" justinianea

Abstract

El programa edilicio (civil y militar) llevado a cabo por el emperador Justiniano en todos los territorios bizantinos no puede ser separado en su análisis de la ideología que va a presidir su politica de Renovatio Imperii. Este artículo tiene la intención de analizar este programa edilicio, en su vertiente de edificios destinados al culto religioso, en el área africana, y especialmente estudiar el papel que las edificaciones justinianeas en Septem tienen en la ideología politico-religiosa de Justiniano.

The analysis of the military and civil building policy carried out by emperor Justinian in all the territories of the Byzantine Empire could not be separated of the study of the ideology that presides his Renovatio Imperii. This paper tries to analyze this building policy, especially the buildings destined to the religious cult in the Aftican area, and the study of the role that the Justinian's buildings in Septem had in the political and religious ideology of his byzantine emperor.
