Estrategia y recursos corintios en la Guerra del Peloponeso

Abstract

El análisis de los recursos materiales y humanos y de la estrategia corintia para la Guerra del Peloponeso permiten confirmar el optimismo que, según Tucídides, irradiaba la sociedad corintia en los orígenes del conflicto para hacer frente al imperialismo ataüense en el Oeste. No obstante, a medida que transcurre la guerra, Corinto irá padeciendo un considerable desgaste de estos recursos que preparará el terreno para la aparición de la crisis económica y la stasis política durante la Guerra Corintia.

The analysis of the human and financial resources and the Corinthian strategy for the Pelopoimesian War allow to confirm the optimism that, according to Thucydides, the Corinthian society irradiated in the origins of the conflict to confront with Athenian imperialism in the West. Nevertheless, as the war tum out, Corinth will be suffering a substantial drain on these resources that will be prepare the way for economical crisis and political stasis outbreaked in the Corinthian War.
