Abstract
transposición, la adaptación, la generalización, y la separación y agrupación de oraciones In the last decades we can observe a meaningful process of globalization, which leads to a
great cultural exchange between different peoples and nations. Among these we can
emphasize the cultural exchange between Spain and the Russian Federation, which is
becoming more and more interesting and attracts the attention of many studies, including
cultural and linguistic studies. For these reasons, the object of the present work has been
Chapter 2 about the Rights and Freedoms of the citizens of the current Constitution of the
Russian Federation. The aim was to analyze Chapter 2 of the Russian Constitution both
from an extralinguistic and from linguistic and translatological point of view. For this
purpose, different historicalsources on the Constitution of the Russian Federation have been
read and synthesized for the theoretical part, and for the practical part, has been analyzed
different parts of books and works related to linguistic and translatological studies in order
to show the main characteristics of the legal language in the text of study and to analyze the
translation problems that can be encountered when translating a legislative text from
Russian to Spanish language.
As a result of the extralinguistic study, it has been observed that the Russian Federation
had to go a long way to reach the current constitutional rights and freedoms. In just one
century, during the 20th century, very strong constitutional changes took place, in which
enormous progress was made, especially in the content of citizens rights.
As a result of the practical study, it can be seen that the text of Rights and Freedoms is
a fragment of the Constitution, therefore it is a legislative text, a normative document made
up of laws that shows the will of the State. Like every legislative text, Chapter 2 of the
Russian Federation is made up of precise and clear language, typical of official discourse.
The language of the Constitution is characterized by the terms of legal reality. There is
frequent use of undefined terms. Also, occasionally there are violations of the main rule of
legislative language, which is precision. There are many cases where the clarity of terms is
blurred and polysemantic words appear with legal and linguistic inaccuracies in the use of
terms.
For the translation of Chapter 2 of the Constitution of Russian Federation into Spanish
language, different translation techniques have been used: literal translation; transposition;
adaptation; generalization; separation and grouping of sentences
