Abstract
cuidados. Objetives: To understand the emotional universe of a migrant woman during the migration process.
Material and Methods: A hermeneutic-biographic study in wich participant was a migrant woman
during the migration process. Using the affective taxonomy of Bisquerra's Universe of Emotions,
the initial categories were established and analyzed using Ricoeur's hermeneutic analysis model.
The type of sampling was opinionated, and the strategy followed was one of intensity. Data collection
was carried out between April and May 2022 by the principal investigator through in-depth video
interviews.
Results: The result categories were four: Unadapted, Nomadic family, Another language change
and Spanish until I open my mouth. The rejection and discrimination suffered due to racism and the
difficulty of integrating socially marked her emotional state, going through anger, sadness and fear
that led her to feel out of step. Belonging to a nomadic family has led him to live in an imposed solitude
that goes through violence and insecurity. Not speaking the same language led her to an atmosphere
of social vulnerability based on misunderstanding and rejection. Lastly, she ends up detailing
her emotional journey with the frustration and depression caused by being considered a “second-
class citizen” for being a migrant.
Conclusion: Understanding the emotional universe of a migrant woman brings us closer to understanding
her migratory process, allowing greater social and health inclusion as well as better care.
