Abstract
their work is neither recognized nor regulated in most societies in which they are present, and
they are exposed to witnessing or living experiences of high psychological impact and very
stressful. The characteristics of public services, as well as those of the interpreting profession
in this sector, are factors that play an essential role in the mental health of public service
interpreters, but each field within these has its own particularities.
The main objective of this work is to measure the psychological impact of public service
interpreters and to find out if the psychological impact is the same in different branches of PSI:
health, legal-judicial, police and administrative. To this end, in-depth research will be carried
out thanks to the articles and studies available on the subject and a 30-question questionnaire
will be sent out belonging to the ProQOL scale, the Professional Quality of Life Measure,
which will be answered anonymously and with which the levels of vicarious trauma and
burnout, which make up what is known as compassion fatigue and compassion satisfaction,
can be measured. With their answers, scores will be obtained and thus it will be possible to find
out in which branches these disorders or conditions are more common than in others
