Abstract
bienestar del usuario que utiliza dichos servicios Interpreting is a more difficult profession than is perceived by the general public. For
decades, the interpreter's profession has been studied as a mediator between two languages in
contact with the main function of facilitating communication. Over the years, the interpreter
has become an intercultural mediator, a mediator between cultures, i.e., not only dealing with
the linguistic problems that may occasionally be encountered when passing a message from one
language to another but also dealing with the cultural differences, present in both verbal and
non-verbal language, that the two languages in contact have with each other, thus making the
profession of interpreting more difficult.

Although the interpreting profession is significantly tougher since it is imperative to consider
the distinct cultures to provide more appropriate and effective interpreting, this study attempts
to attribute to the profession an additional characteristic that makes the profession even more
difficult: the exchange of emotions. Different emotions are present in all speech, which vary
according to the situation, context, or intention, and which can be misinterpreted or even go
unnoticed during interlinguistic communication. It is the interpreter's job to understand and
analyse the situation and the different emotions felt by the interlocutors to make the most
appropriate interpretation possible, without leaving any factor off the table that could make the
other interlocutor misunderstand the situation that is taking place.
The study will focus on interpreting in the field of Public Services the aim of which has been,
for several years now, to focus on the needs and well-being of the user who uses these services
