Abstract
ajustado a nuestra realidad.
In the present work, it shows the results of the analysis of the supply and demand of
the use of water and its current and future economic effects in the Cuchoquesera
dam generated with statistical and economic tools with a database of daily reading of
flow input to the dam for eighteen years (2002 -2020) and the census of the
agricultural frontier carried out by the JUDRA "Users Board of the Ayacucho Region" during the last five years; The objective was to carry out an analysis of supply and
demand for water use, current and future economic analysis adjusted to our reality.
For this purpose, our results were to carry out the analyzes and calculate the average
annual volume of water for eighteen years (55 hm3), of which 20 hm3 remains as a
cushion to prevent cracks, having available water of 35 hm3 of which 16 hm3 is for
population consumption of the province of Huamanga, so there would be 19 hm3 of
water available to distribute in irrigation for six months. Our suggested water
requirement for optimal crop yield and for an irrigation interval every ten days would
be 4.200 m3 (0.0042 hm3) on average per hectare and according to the irrigation
intention pattern for the year 2022, there are 9.107 hectares; therefore, 38.2 hm3 of
water would have to be available, discarding the 19 hm3 for irrigation every 10 days.
Continuing our evaluation, we find that every 20 days it is possible to cover with 19
hm3 with a water requirement of 2.100 m3 (0.0021 hm3) for 9.107 hectares, whose
irrigation is not recommended and would reflect the reality of our calculations and
analyzes in the field, generating large economic losses per hectare of land in more
than 50% of income, compared to an availability of water every seven days that would
be recommended. In the population sector, by the year 2032 a population of 322.170
inhabitants is estimated in the province of Huamanga, which would require supplying
16 hm3 of water, that is to say that until the year 2032 we would still not have
problems of water consumption as long as the water consumption per person does
not increase; if the case would only increase to 150 l/h/d, in 2028 we would already
have the drawbacks because we would require 17 hm3, sufficient reasons
to alert us and start doing good water management. The economic analysis basically
evaluated the livestock sector by income from the sale of milk in the sector of the
upper micro-basin of Cachi, which until the year 2022 had an irrigation intention of
2.380 hectares, according to table 9, it is observed the great economic losses due to
management and availability of water over irrigation intervals, in that sense in the
same table we can see when irrigation is carried out every 10 days you can receive
an income of 9.072 soles per income from the sale of milk for six months per hectare
of land, compared to another that irrigates every 30 days only receives 3.024 soles. Finally, the management and availability of water according to the irrigation intervals
would reflect the notable difference in economic income. Faced with this case, an
efficient management in the use, access and management of water is proposed as a
mitigation measure, however, it will be necessary to propose projects such as the
construction of more reservoirs, water harvesting in micro-basins, construction of
infiltration ditches in the headwaters of the basins, etc., with the aim of reducing the
gap of unsatisfied demand, to ensure the water supply and guarantee food security in
the Ayacucho Region.
