Abstract
Our research focuses on the analysis of the tomb of Thutmosis III. This is the first time and place where we find the whole representation of one of the Texts of the Netherworld. In this representation the texts and pictures share the weight of the narra-tive. It would be the first illustrated book; the texts and images create a unity making constant reference to each other. Having a strictly schematic language this burial chamber gather very interesting narrative systems. These narrative skills remind us in many instances of numerous authors and works of contemporary experimental comics. For this reason, we approach to this place from comic artist’s point of view to analyze and understand these systems of representation that we believe can provide interesting elements to current narrative systems and specifically to comic language.
