Abstract
The following Master’s project addresses the importance of the methodology for the
development of the subject of Physical Education during Secondary school, a critical and
sensitive period in which a large part of the students are unmotivated and little involved
in the teaching and learning process. To this end, we designed an innovation project based
on the use of ICT and gamification in order to approach the current reality of students,
responding to their demands and interests. Although these two elements are considered
to be the two main educational trends, we do not find in the literature a study that
combines both and studies their educational implications with samples from Secondary
schools.
This research project follows a mixed methodology. In the section on the proposal for
action, we include a description of the procedure and instruments needed to carry out the
proposed research. Attached are the semi-structured interviews that will be carried out at
the end of the intervention, the questions raised to be collected in the students' field diary,
the Observational System of Teaching Oriented Responsibility (OSTOR) to evaluate the
observational capacity of teachers and the two questionnaires to be completed before and
after the intervention to evaluate motivation levels (questionnaire Ampet-4) and the
degree of group cohesion (questionnaire PCA-A).
The aim of this work is to analyse new possibilities in the field of education, more
specifically in physical education, to develop a teaching and learning process that is
meaningful and motivating for students. We propose a study that can be carried out with
the methodology described for the evaluation of a hybrid model that combines ICT and
gamification and the analysis of the associations that are established with the motivation
and cohesion of the group.
Among the main conclusions we found that the subject of Physical Education has great
potential to improve the quality of learning thanks to the construction of significant
knowledge networks and the implementation of emerging methodologies that approach
the new educational reality of students.
