A cidade de Évora durante a antiguidade tardia a través do mundo funerário/religioso

Abstract

No presente artigo temos como principal objectivo analisar a cidade de Évora durante a Antiguidade Tardia, focando-nos no estudo da esfera funerária/religiosa. Apesar de, até à data, não ter havido um contributo considerável para o estudo e análise da cidade de Évora para a cronologia anteriormente referida, é certo que esta ocupou algum destaque durante esta época. No caso de Évora não existem muitos dados que permitam tecer considerações no que diz respeito aos elementos que a constituem durante época tardia. No entanto, os poucos elementos que, até à data, foram descobertos, juntamente com o que se sabe actualmente sobre as cidades durante a Antiguidade Tardia, permitiram-nos conceber outras teorias sobre esta urbe.

In the present article we have as the main objective, analyse the city of Évora during Late Antiquity, focusing in the study of the funerary/religious sphere. Although, to the date, there wasn’t been a considerable contribution to the study and analysis of the city of Évora for the chronology referred earlier, it is certain that it had some prominence during this time. In the case of Évora doesn’t exist many data that permits formulate considerations concerning the elements that constitute it during this late chronology. However, the few elements that, to the date, were discovered, along with what is actually known about the cities in Late Antiquity, allowed us to conceive other theories about this urb.
