Los infantes y la muerte en la antigua Celtiberia

Abstract

Con este título se propone abordar un área poco trabajada en la arqueología peninsular: la arqueología funeraria infantil. En un territorio donde todavía no se habían realizado este tipo de estudios, la Celtiberia. Por ello se ha analizado el trato que los individuos no adultos han recibido en la arqueología celtibérica, con una aproximación a la infancia en la antigua Celtiberia a través del ritual funerario y observando si existía alguna diferenciación entre el tratamiento que recibía los individuos más pequeños de la sociedad, con respecto del recibido por el resto de la sociedad. Así se concluyó que no existen diferencias entre los infantes y el resto de la población en esta área.

This project studies an area that has not been worked in the peninsular archaeology, the children funerary archaeology, in a place where these studies had not been made yet, the Celtiberia. Therefore, I have analyzed the treatment that non-adults have received in Celtiberian archaeology, with an approach through funeral rituals and I have observed if there was any difference between the treatment that children received about death in comparison with the rest of society. This way, it is concluded that there weren’t any differences in the Celtiberian period.
