Espacios de aventuras en el Libro de Apolonio

Abstract

El presente artículo explora las posibilidades de estudio abiertas por el examen del espacio en el Libro de Apolonio y su papel en la ela-boración del discurso narrativo. A través del análisis textual de una serie de episodios concretos, se examina la función poética de los dos espacios que estructuran el relato, la ciudad y el mar, antes de observar las distintas lecturas simbólicas que estos tienen en el desarrollo de la acción y en la trayectoria de los distintos personajes.

This article explores the possibilities for research offered by the study of space in the Libro de Apolonio and its part in the elaboration of the narrative discourse. Through the textual analysis of a few concrete episodes, the poetic function of the two main spaces that structure the story, the town and the sea, will be considered. The reflexion will then focus on the various symbolic readings of the same spaces and the role that they play in the plot’s development and in the different characters’ path.
