Abstract
Disney and Studio Ghibli are references in animated cinema for the West and the East respectively, and we present the treatment that both of
them give to the concept of migration. Starting
from this audiovisual situation and being aware
of the influence of visual culture on people who
consume it, it is intended to assess the knowledge that a group of students of the Teacher's
Degree in Primary School of the University of
Valencia has in this regard and the potential that
they perceived in it as a teaching resource in
class. For this, qualitative methodology is used,
specifically case study. The results reaffirm the
potential of animated cinema as a mean to educate students, but they conclude that teachers
have scarce training in this regard and the lack
of knowledge of this sector in relation to audiovisual didactics.
