El Torrente Palâr (Udine, Italia): análisis de la percepción social del desarrollo e impacto del turismo

Abstract

Este trabajo se centra en el problema del turismo masificado en el Torrente Palâr y su población adyacente, Alesso. Con ello, se quiere ofrecer un análisis de la percepción social del desarrollo e impacto del turismo actual con el objetivo de confirmar si, efectivamente, existe una conciencia de estos impactos, qué magnitud alcanzan y cuáles son los más significativos. Al mismo tiempo, averiguar qué modo las personas involucradas creen que pueden resolverse, recogiendo ideas y soluciones que puedan mejorar la situación. Para ello, se ha dividido el trabajo en dos fases. Una primera fase consistente en realizar una revisión documental sobre la zona, estudiando su historia pasada y el uso de los recursos del Palâr, y una segunda fase donde se han llevado a cabo una serie de encuestas y entrevistas a los residentes, visitantes y personas relacionadas con las actividades y negocios de la zona. El análisis de los resultados de esta recogida de información muestra el acuerdo sobre la existencia de una serie de problemas, entre los que destacan la mala gestión de los residuos y de los aparcamientos. A pesar de ello, ninguno de los actores involucrados se muestra desfavorable a un desarrollo turístico este, siempre y cuando la administración municipal y los residentes tomen iniciativas de mejora y los visitantes respeten el lugar. Entre las propuestas de solución recogidas, destacan el aumento de contenedores, la mayor frecuencia de vaciado de estos, la variación de los precios del aparcamiento y, además, la apertura de nuevos servicios que fomenten la economía local.

This paper focuses on the problem of mass tourism in the Torrent Palâr and its adjacent village, Alesso. With this, we want to offer an analysis of the social perception of the development and impact of current tourism, in order to confirm whether, indeed, there is an awareness of these impacts, what magnitude they reach and which are the most significant. At the same time, we want to find out how the people involved believe they can be solved, collecting ideas and solutions that can improve the situation. To this pourpose, the work has been divided into two phases. The first phase consists in a documentary review of the area, studying its past history and the use of the resources of the Palâr. In the second pase, we have carried out a series of surveys and interviews with residents, visitors, and persons related to the activities and business of the area. The analysis of the results of this information showed agreement on the existence of a number of problems, among which are the poor management of waste and parking. In spite of this, none of the actors involved is unfavorable to this tourist development, as long as the municipal administration and the residents take initiatives of improvement and the visitors respect the place. Among the solution proposals collected, stands out the increase of trash cans, the higher frequency of empty them, the variation in parking prices and, in addition, the opening of new services that promote the local economy.
