Abstract
The pentacoordinate C6F5Co(acacen) (acacen = N,N'-ethylenebis(acetylacetone iminate)), complex were prepd. by Grignard reaction involving BrCo(acacen)PPh3 and by oxidative addn. of BrTl(C6F5)2 to Co(acacen). The addn. of bases to soln. of C6F5Co(acacen) gave neutral mononuclear octahedral C6F5Co(acacen)L (L = H2O, NH3, pyridine, PhCH2NH2, piperidine) complexes in addn. to the binuclear complex [C6F5Co(acacen)]2en (en = ethylenediamine) and a binuclear anionic complex [[C6F5CO(acacen)]2CN]K.
