Abstract
The quality of the different artistic expressions of the chicano people, mostly since the 80's, has achieved a level that trascends the frontiers of the "barrio". Innovations in literature, paintinig, music and films are related to the unniversalization of art and not confined to purely sociological or local spheres. The postmodernist principies become the model chosen by young chicano artists.
