Dioscórides en la tradición literaria

Abstract

En esta reseña, se trata la figura de Dioscórides a través de la tradición literaria de diferentes épocas: en la Edad Media gracias a las escuelas de traductores y al interés de los musulmanes por traducir textos de autores griegos y latinos, más el interés musulmán por la medicina; en los siglos XV y XVI se produce un gran aumento en la tradición literaria de Dioscórides gracias al desarrollo del saber y conocimiento entre todas las clases sociales y al aumento de ediciones sobre traducciones de su obra. En Europa y España destacará sobremanera la figura de Andrés Laguna, médico del Papa Julio III quién, aparte de traducir la obra, realizó comentarios para mejorarla. En los siglos XIX y XX se volverán a reeditar ediciones de época moderna y se realizan nuevas traducciones en las que se utilizará la obra clásica realizando transformaciones e innovaciones para mezclar novedad y antigüedad.

In this review, the figure of Dioscorides is treated through the literary tradition of different times: in the Middle Ages thanks to the schools of translators and the interest of Muslims in translating texts by Greek and Latin authors, plus the interest Muslim for medicine; In the 15th and 16th centuriesthere was a great increase in the literary tradition of Dioscorides thanks to the development of knowledge and knowledge among all social classes and the increase in editions on translations of his work.
