Abstract
The complex (μ-O)[Ti(C5Me5)Cl2]2 can be readily alkylated with organo-lithium or -magnesium reagents to give (μ-O)[Ti(C5Me5)R2]2 (R = Me, Ch2Ph, or CH2SiMe3) compounds which have been characterized by analytical and spectroscopic methods and, in the case of R = CH2SiMe3, by an X-ray diffraction study. Crystals are trigonal, space group PFull-size image (<1 K)C1 (no. 165); the values of R and Rw were 0.063 and 0.086 respectively. The compound has a crowded structure with a Ti-O-Ti angle of 155.9(1)°, and possibly with Ti…H-C interactions.
