El exilio en Roma

Abstract

En este trabajo vamos a realizar un recorrido por lo que supone el exilio en la antigua Roma, comenzando por sus orígenes dentro del ámbito doméstico, pasando por ser un acto administrativo y hasta llegar a convertirse en una auténtica pena. Para ello, vamos a analizar la necesidad del individuo a pertenecer a un grupo de la sociedad romana, ya que eso le da una serie de derechos y de protecciones que no podría obtener de otra forma. Y cómo podemos observar la evolución de dicha sociedad a través de las diferentes figuras que van desarrollando la forma del exilio. Así, para entender a la sociedad romana y su evolución, también debemos entender cómo afectó esta figura en su conjunto. Para ellos tenía gran importancia el pertenecer a una familia, por lo que cuando a un individuo se le aparta, es una de las peores consecuencias que le podría ocurrir tanto al individuo como al grupo. Todo ello dejará huella en la sociedad romana y el porqué va realizando esta evolución a través de las diferentes figuras del exilio.

In this work we're going to make a tour around what’s entailed as the exile in the Ancient Rome, starting from its origins in the domestic environment to an administrative act until it turned into a truly condemnation. To do so, we’re going to analyze the individual’s need to belong to a group of the Roman society, as this gives certain rights and protections that oneself would not be able to get otherwise. And how we can observe the evolution of such society through the different figures that are developing the shape of the exile. Thus, in order to understand Roman society and its evolution, we must also understand how this figure as a whole was affected. Belonging to a family was of great importance for them, so when an individual is separated, it is one of the worst consequences that could happen to both the individual and the group. All of this will leave a deep impact in Roman society and why this evolution is being done though the different figures of exile.
