El español hablado por los bubis y los fang de Guinea Ecuatorial. Valoraciones desde la comunidad guineoecuatoriana en Madrid

Abstract

Los guineoecuatorianos constituyen un colectivo de inmigrantes hispanohablantes con una presencia estable y longeva en la Comunidad de Madrid, de actualmente unas 9.000 personas. Una característica principal de esta comunidad –y de la sociedad guineoecuatoriana en general– son las divisiones étnicas internas, especialmente entre bubis y fang. Mientras que los fang representan la etnia mayoritaria de Guinea Ecuatorial y el grupo políticamente dominante desde la independencia del país en 1968, los bubis constituyen la mayor de las etnias minoritarias. En esta contribución, enfocaremos el factor étnico desde una perspectiva sociolingüística. Más en concreto, nos interesa cómo los guineoecuatorianos residentes en Madrid comentan y valoran el español hablado por sus compatriotas, haciendo hincapié, precisamente, en las posibles diferencias internas en el español de Guinea Ecuatorial relacionadas con el origen étnico de los hablantes. Nos basamos en un corpus de 24 entrevistas semi-dirigidas, realizadas en 2017 y 2018 con guineoecuatorianos bubis y fang en Madrid.

The Equatoguineans constitute a group of Spanish-speaking immigrants with a stable and long-lasting presence in the Autonomous Community of Madrid, with currently about 9.000 individuals. An important characteristic of this group –and of the Equatoguinean society as a whole– are the internal ethnic differences, especially between Bubi and Fang. The Fang represent the most numerous ethnic group of Equatorial Guinea and hold the political power since independence in 1968, whereas the Bubi are the biggest ethnic minority group. In this article, we look at the criteria of ethnicity from a sociolinguistic point of view. More precisely, we study how the Equatoguineans in Madrid describe and value the Spanish spoken by their compatriots, focusing especially on internal variations in the Spanish of Equatorial Guinea related to the speakers’ ethnic origin. Our corpus contains 24 semi-structured interviews that were conducted in 2017 and 2018 with Equatoguineans (Bubi and Fang) in Madrid.
