Abstract
En esta breve reseña se realiza un apunte sobre la estructura y función de los lazaretos en la Edad Moderna (siglos XV-XVIII) como lugares en los que se impusieron medidas de confinamiento para controlarlasepidemias que llegaban a través del comercio exterior deultramar. Debido a la trascendencia económica y política, se mencionan los lazaretos de España e Italia.
 
In this brief review, a note is made on the structure and function of lazarets in the Modern Age (XV-XVIII centuries) as places where confinement measures were imposed to control the epidemics that came through the foreign trade of overseas.
