The following article presents a theoretical-reflexive perspective on flipped classrooms. The aim of this didactic proposal is for students to take responsibility and actively participate (through peer cooperation and collaboration) in the teachinglearning process. The origins and meaning of this strategy are explored in the first part of this paper. The second section addresses the pedagogical foundations that support the strategy, such as Bloom's taxonomy, Edgar Dale's learning cone, and social constructivism. The third section assesses the advantages and challenges faced by those who want to flip their classroom as a strategy. Finally, it is concluded that this strategy could be valid as it aims to take advantage of classroom time to work on the interpretation and questioning of contents. However, it could also be counterproductive for teachers and students due to the commitment, skills and dedication that it requires.en
