La "Anábasis" forzada: deportaciones en el Imperio Aqueménida

Abstract

El estudio sistemático y comparativo de los diferentes episodios de deportaciones ejecutadas por los persas relatados en las fuentes clásicas permite discernir que, bajo este único término, se esconden varias prácticas diferenciadas. Pese al sesgo de los autores griegos, nos es posible ver que las actuaciones de los persas tras adueñarse de una tierra no tienen nada de arbitrario y se adecuan tanto a las circunstancias de las conquistas como al marco político de estos territorios. Las deportaciones son uno más de los métodos que utilizó el Imperio Aqueménida para asegurarse la estabilidad y lealtad de los países bajo su control, siguiendo la estela de otros imperios anteriores en Oriente Próximo y Medio.

The systematic and comparative study of the different episodes of deportations taken by the Persians reported in the Classical sources allows to discern distinct practices that hide under this single term. Despite the bias of the Greek authors, we can see that the actions of the Persians after seizing a land are not arbitrary and are adjusted to the conquest’s circumstances as well the political background of this territories. The deportations are just one of the methods used by the Achaemenid Empire in order to assure his stability and the loyalty of the countries under his control, following the footsteps of another previous empires in the Near and Middle East.
