El análisis pragmalingüístico de las palabras baúl: el caso del verbo "hacer"

Abstract

El objetivo del presente artículo constituye el análisis de una de las “palabras baúl”, esto es, el verbo “hacer”. Aunque forma parte del léxico frecuentemente utilizado por los hablantes, se caracteriza por cierta inespecificidad: puede denominar numerosas actividades y sustituir varias unidades más concretas. El análisis de una serie de conversaciones coloquiales nos permite llevar a cabo el estudio pragmalingüístico del verbo “hacer”: a partir de los diferentes usos intentamos clasificar cuáles son las posibles condiciones del empleo de la unidad en cuestión.

The aim of this article is to analyse the Spanish verb “hacer” (‘make’ in English), which has a very wide meaning. Although it is one of the frequently used lexical items, it can provoke some difficulties: it designates different activities and it can be substituted by more specific words. The analysis of some colloquial conversations constitutes the base of a pragmalinguistic study of the verb “hacer”: basing on its numerous uses we intend to determinate which are the possible conditions of employing this expression.
